Robert Keenan Chardonnay Spring Mountain 2021

Keenan's 2021 Chardonnay underwent a meticulous hand harvesting process, followed by de-stemming and gentle pressing. The resulting juice was fermented and matured in both French and American oak barrels. It remained on the lees, with the barrels being stirred weekly. Notably, no secondary or malolactic fermentation was performed, which contributes to the wine's refreshing citrus profile. After approximately seven months of aging in the cellar, the wine was bottled.

The final product presents an aromatic profile of citrus, ripe pear, and green apple. As the wine breathes, subtle notes of lush white peach emerge. The sur-lie aging process has imparted a richness and complexity, complemented by a hint of toasty oak on the finish. Consistent with all of Keenan’s offerings, this Chardonnay is well-suited for pairing with a diverse range of dishes, thanks to its crisp acidity and medium body.
