Crafted in honor of Geoff Merrill’s grandfather, who lived to 102, the Henley Shiraz 2008 embodies the pinnacle of McLaren Vale Shiraz, blending bold aromas of coffee, leather, chocolate, black olive tapenade, and spiced savoury meats with a palate defined by vibrant acidity and complex, layered flavours that promise exceptional aging potential.

The 2008 vintage, marked by a historic heatwave and condensed harvest, challenged winemakers but yielded concentrated, high-quality fruit, with moderate winter rains and strategic canopy management preserving vineyard health. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, only the finest barrels were selected by Geoff Merrill and winemaker Scott for this limited-release blend, which underwent meticulous sensory evaluation and extended maturation to achieve its structured depth and elegant balance.
