Josmeyer Gewürztraminer Les Folastries 2020

Wine from grapes picked from a plain of 60-year-old vines at the beginning of September, with a potential alcohol content of 13.5%, aged for six months in stainless steel barrels, the 2020 Gewurztraminer Les Folastries presents a very clear, rich, and lemony fresh aroma of gravel, candied lemon, smoked ham, and fig. On the palate, the wine is elegant, rich, and full-bodied, quite compact, but dry with an alcohol content of 13.8% and a residual sugar content of only three grams per liter. The wine is invigorating, fresh, lively, and rich, but lacks the richness and expressiveness of a truly top-tier Gewurztraminer. Tasted at the winery in May 2022.
