Chapter and Verse Reserve Merlot 2014

The 2014 reserve Merlot presents a deep gem red, with ripe black plum, red plum, mulberry, and black cherry – this is a super Chinese Merlot! – with distinct lavender, vanilla, and toasted bread secondary aromas (about 60% to 70% new oak). The wine has a full body, rich and still youthful, showcasing strong, mature, and tannin-covered characteristics, vibrant but well-integrated with high alcohol content, and with some enhanced acidity. Thankfully, this wine maintains a refreshing level in the fully matured but not overly soft Merlot, with considerable length and refinement. This wine has true potential and will benefit from further bottle aging.
