Product Description
Puchang Rkatsiteli 2022 from Xinjiang, China is a brilliant straw-yellow white wine blending the Georgian Rkatsiteli grape with Riesling to create a full-bodied, complex expression that captivates buyers seeking something distinctive from China's desert terroir. Aromas of ripe peach, pear, citrus, and a touch of coconut lead to a round, crisp palate with refreshing acidity, light minerality, and hints of orange peel, finishing long with peach pastry notes.
Tasting notes
Gold colour with attractive white fruit aromas mixing lemon, white peach, and golden apples; the palate is creamy yet crisp, with lemony freshness, a full body, and a soft, round texture that lingers beautifully.
Winemaking
Grapes are softly pressed and fermented in stainless steel, then aged 12 months with 45% in second and third-fill French oak barrels, 20% in new 20hl wood cask, and 35% in stainless steel; no malolactic fermentation preserves natural acidity.
Accolades
Awarded 94 points by James Suckling, affirming Puchang's mastery of Rkatsiteli in Xinjiang.
