Ancient Daoist Wisdom, Modern Chinese Winemaking
龍亭 Longting is one of China's most compelling boutique wineries, founded in 2009 by chairwoman Song Yan on the eastern slopes of Mount Feng in Penglai, Shandong—one of China's most promising coastal wine regions. The estate farms 34 hectares of biodynamic vineyards planted with internationally acclaimed varieties perfectly suited to its terroir: Petit Manseng, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Marselan.
Guided by the Daoist philosophy of "harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity," Longting employs minimal intervention winemaking: hand-harvested grapes, gravity-flow cellars, temperature-controlled fermentation, and no-till viticulture to preserve biodiversity and soil health. The result is a portfolio of just 50,000 bottles annually—a deliberate choice prioritizing quality over volume.
The estate's commitment to craft has earned international recognition, with their Reserve Cabernet Franc and Jade Petit Manseng Late Harvest both winning Gold Medals at the 2023 Berlin Wine Trophy.
