92 points (Tim Atkin) - Christian Moreau Chablis Premier Cru Vaillon 2023 captures classic left-bank tension with discreet, beautifully integrated oak and top value for the appellation. From mature parcels, it’s fermented mainly in stainless steel, with a portion aged about eight months in older French barrels (less than 5% new), building subtle creaminess without masking terroir.
Expect bright lemon blossom, green apple, pear and lime, underlined by wet-stone minerality and a gentle salty feel on the finish. On the palate it’s medium-bodied, sharp and juicy - citrus, grapefruit and citron layered with a touch of toast/vanilla and a long, clean mineral drive.
