HdV Chardonnay 2022 is 100% Chardonnay, a blend of Old Wente and Calera clones, native-yeast fermented and aged in French oak with full malolactic conversion and minimal new wood. Meyer lemon oil, green apple and white peach lead the nose, joined by honeysuckle, crushed flint and toasted brioche. The palate turns full-bodied and satiny, delivering concentrated citrus curd and pear through chalky minerality to a long, saline finish.
This Carneros Napa-area chardonnay suits drinkers seeking a Burgundian-style white with taut minerality and electric acidity over riper, oak-heavy California Chardonnay.
