Joseph Daou, the Daou family patriarch, embodied the strength of a lion, passing on courage to his sons. Witnessing their success and legacy before his passing, during a visit to DAOU Mountain, he blessed their winemaking dreams. Soul of a Lion pays homage to that poignant moment, a tribute befitting the father. DAOU Mountain, at 2,200 feet, dominates the Adelaida District in Paso Robles. With steep slopes reaching 56 percent, uniform exposure, and 14 unique Cabernet Sauvignon clones in calcareous clay soil, it mirrors Bordeaux's Right Bank and Napa's St. Helena. This terroir, powerful and pure, provides all natural elements for perfect Cabernet Sauvignon.
