Jacky Blot discovered his passion for wine while working as a junior pâtissier at a restaurant in Paris in his younger days. He later decided to pursue winemaking, ultimately acquiring the Domaine la Taille aux Loups in Montlouis sur Loire around twenty years ago, and later adding the Domaine de la Butte in Bourgueil to his portfolio.
Although Blot's two estates along the Loire may not have the same notoriety as their neighbors Vouvray and Chinon, his wines rival the quality levels of many top producers in the region. The "Hauts de Husseau" comes from Blot's highest altitude vineyards, where the vines average over 70 years of age. All of the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in barrel, without undergoing malolactic fermentation.
This resulting wine is vibrant and crisp, with a clean and precise profile that lingers on the palate.
