Since 1978, Duckhorn has crafted this vineyard-designate Merlot from napa's legendary Three Palms Vineyard, aging 18 months in 100% French oak (75% new) for depth and structure.
James Suckling calls it "one of the classic California merlots... full-bodied and generous in dark cherry, tobacco leaf, cedar and bay leaf flavors." Wine Spectator adds it's "handsomely structured and built for the long haul," while Owen Bargreen praises "terrific texture and flavor density" closing long on loamy soils.
