Egly-Ouriet

Growing Champagne Leading Icon

Egly-Ouriet is one of the most highly regarded grower-producers in Champagne, known for its artisanal approach and exceptional quality. Based in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, famous for its Pinot Noir, Egly-Ouriet is a pioneer of the grower Champagne movement (RM – Récoltant-Manipulant), Egly-Ouriet focuses on low-intervention viticulture and extended aging for depth and complexity. Their vineyards owns old vines (many over 40 years old), farmed organically, with extremely low yields for concentrated flavours.

Most Champagnes of Egly-Ouriet are Extra Brut (0-4 g/L sugar), highlighting purity, and are fermented and aged in neutral oak barrels for added texture. Wines express the terroir - chalky soils and sun-drenched slopes of Ambonnay. Egly-Ouriet scored critical acclaim regularly (e.g. rated 95+ points by Wine Advocate), and is considered a benchmark for grower Champagnes, rivaling top grandes marques.
