Egly-Ouriet
Egly-Ouriet is one of the most prominent grower Champagne producers (récoltant-manipulant), located at Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims. It has attained something of a cult status for its richly colored, textured wines, and is a favorite of notable American wine critic Robert Parker. It owns just under 12 hectares of grand cru vineyards planted to 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, primarily in Ambonnay, 1.4 hectares in Verzenay, a few rows in Bouzy, and a two-hectare plot of very old meunier vines in Vrigny that produce a single-vineyard premier cru.
