Olivier Bernstein Les Champeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 2008 is 100% Pinot Noir, vinified in Gevrey before aging in new French oak barrels crafted by master cooper Stéphane Chassin, with cool maceration preceding fermentation on indigenous yeast. This premier cru carries the keeping potential Bernstein targets across his range, built to rival the appellation's Grand Crus.
Sweet cherries and plums lead the nose, well-defined with juicy focus and fine-grained tannins. Taut and appealingly spicy, the wine remains quite primary in youth, with structure and precision suited to further cellaring.
