Product Description
Giant Steps' Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 is sourced from a 50/50 blend of Gingin and Bernard clones planted on steep north-facing slopes in Gruyere.
Earning a remarkable 97 points each from James Suckling and Halliday Wine Companion, plus 96 points from both Decanter and Huon Hooke — and named in Suckling's Top 100 Wines of Australia 2024 — this vintage is as decorated as it is delicious. Whole-bunch pressed and wild-fermented in 500L French puncheons (25% new oak) with 20% malolactic fermentation, it opens with lemon curd, candied lime zest, mandarins, and flint.
The palate is medium-bodied, tightly coiled, and polished — vibrant acidity drives orange peel, hazelnut, grapefruit pith, and saline minerality through a supremely long, energetic finish. Pure precision. Drink now through 2032.
