Josmeyer Pinot Auxerrois H Vieilles Vigne 2019

Light gold color. Old vines, planted in Henst Grade I vineyards, produce fresh wines. Dry type, but plump, full-bodied and nutty. The palate is deep with citrus, apple and mineral flavors. Excellent cut and delicate length. The grapes are picked by hand and pressed in whole clusters in a pneumatic press. After fermentation, it is naturally stabilized in stainless steel tanks during the winter months, undergoing very gentle filtration. Bottled before summer heat to preserve natural carbonate gas (a natural antioxidant). Located in the heart of Alsace, close to Colmar, our winery was founded in 1854 by ancestor Alois Meyer. Since 2009, we two sisters have followed our father's footsteps to pursue this family adventure. Isabel is the winemaker, and I, Selina, run the winery. Our vineyards have been organically and biodynamically farmed since 2000. Our 90 vineyards are approximately 25 hectares in plain or hilly terrain, including the famous "Great Region" hills "Henst" and "Brand". Hand-picked and carefully sorted grapes are then slowly pressed in a pneumatic press.
