Product Description
Bodega Benegas 'FBL' Libertad Estate Single Vineyard 2012 is a distinguished Bordeaux-style blend from historic Finca Libertad in Mendoza, Argentina. This wine is crafted from equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon (planted 1935), Cabernet Franc (planted 1899), and Merlot (planted 1956)—rare old vines cultivated by the legendary Benegas family for over a century. The "FBL" designation honors the family's heritage in Mendoza's upper river bank at 850 meters elevation in Cruz de Piedra, Maipu.
French Oak Maturity & Cold Maceration
Pre-fermentative cold maceration precedes controlled fermentation at 25°C, followed by two weeks of post-fermentation maceration. Each varietal is aged separately for 12 months in new French oak barrels after natural malolactic fermentation.
Layered Complexity & Elegant Finish
The deep vermilion color with ruby nuances reveals expressive black and red fruit aromatics mingled with white pepper, toasted red pepper, cherries, and herbal freshness, enhanced by vanilla, toast, and smoky oak notes. Powerful in the first impression with complex structure, the palate delivers ripe, juicy tannins building through layered mid-palate depth toward an elegant, long, and persistent finish. Cellaring potential of 15 years. Serve at 15-17°C with grilled meats or aged cheeses
