Widely hailed as the best Cartology yet, Alheit Vineyards 'Cartology' 2023 is South Africa's benchmark white blend — 94% old-vine Chenin Blanc and 6% Sémillon, hand-sorted and whole-bunch pressed from ancient dryland bush vines across Skurfberg, Piekenierskloof, Paardeberg and Tygerberg.
Naturally fermented, aged in a combination of concrete tanks, foudres and older French oak — minimal intervention, maximum terroir. The nose captivates with ripe pear, kumquat, citrus rind, honeysuckle and sweet herbal nuance. The palate is mineral-driven, tensile and complex — stone fruit, wet stone, oatmeal and savoury spice, with a killer line of acidity and a long, waxy, saline finish. Cellar 2025–2040.
