Billecart-Salmon Le Rosé
Origin
Country: France
Region and Appellation: Champagne
Product Description
Billecart-Salmon has perfected the craft of rosé Champagne with their celebrated Le Rosé, a harmonious blend of Grand Cru Chardonnay (45%), Pinot Noir (35%), and Meunier (20%). This exquisite cuvée captures the essence of Champagne's finest terroirs—from the chalk-rich slopes of Côte des Blancs to the sun-kissed vineyards of Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne.
Tasting Profile
A luminous pale pink hue introduces delicate aromas of wild strawberries, red currants, and citrus zest, lifted by floral freshness. On the palate, the wine unfolds with creamy texture and vibrant acidity, revealing layers of raspberry, blood orange, and a whisper of almond. The finish is crisp and lingering, marked by the signature mineral precision of Billecart-Salmon’s cold fermentation process.
Winemaking & Terroir
- Low-temperature vinification in stainless steel preserves the purity of fruit and floral aromatics.
- Extended lees aging (36 months) deepens complexity while maintaining the wine’s ethereal finesse.
- Extra Brut dosage enhances the natural expression of fruit and terroir, with no residual sweetness.
A Champagne of Place
The Chardonnay, sourced from Grand Cru villages like Cramant and Avize, lends structure and chalky minerality, while Pinot Noir from Ay and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ provides depth and red fruit intensity. Meunier, grown in the clay-rich soils of the Vallée de la Marne, adds roundness and a touch of spice.
