Product Description
Errazuriz Don Maximiano 2011 is the flagship wine from Viña Errázuriz, founded in 1870 in Chile's legendary Aconcagua Valley. Named after the visionary founder Don Maximiano Errázuriz, this Bordeaux-inspired blend achieved global recognition at the 2004 Berlin Tasting, where it triumphed blind against Bordeaux First Growths and Super Tuscans.
Classic Aconcagua Terroir
The 2011 vintage blends 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carmenère, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Malbec from hillside vineyards planted between 1978-1999. Hand-picked fruit ferments in small stainless steel vats before 22 months aging in French oak (65% new).
Exceptional Depth & Structure
Deep reddish-violet in color, this Don Maximiano features red fruit aromas of cherries and strawberries, complemented by notes of coffee, tobacco, and cedar from nuanced French oak maturation. The palate shows good amplitude and great depth, with unctuous fruit character and layered complexity.
