Ranked No. 45 in James Suckling's Top 100 Wines of South Africa 2025. This Savage Syrah comes from young vines planted close to the Atlantic Ocean. About half the grapes are fermented with their stems, which adds fresh, peppery spice. The wine then ages 10 months in large oak vats and old barrels. Expect violet, plum, cherry, white pepper and a touch of black olive, with a fresh, salty edge.
Serve it with grilled lamb, roast duck or charcuterie. It suits Syrah lovers who prefer fresh and savoury over big and jammy.
