Product Description
Eben Sadie sources this south Africa Chenin Blanc from the oldest Chenin vine in the Cape — originally planted in 1905 on decomposed granite at the foot of Mount Bothmaskop in Jonkershoek Valley, Stellenbosch. Young and old vines are harvested separately: young vines fermented in 500L casks, old vines in neutral foudre, then aged 12 months on lees in casks and amphorae, unfiltered and unfined.
- Nose: Spiced pear, mango stone, honey, papaya, and honeysuckle — fragrant, exotic, and full-bodied with a sublime sea spray and lanolin delicacy
- Palate: Creamy, rich, and voluminous — lime zest, green apple, lemongrass, and crushed chalk with laser-sharp precision, fresh acidity, and beautiful structure
- Finish: Breathtakingly long and mineral — chalk, lemongrass, and citrus oil linger with extraordinary persistence; drinking through 2049
