Country: USA
Region and Appellation: Oregon Willamette Valley
Product Description
Crafted from the finest "Reserve" lots in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the 2017 Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir exemplifies the elegance and complexity of cool-climate viticulture. This vintage opens with voluminous aromas of black cherry, currant, and plum, layered with baking spice and toasted coffee bean. The palate delivers a velvety cascade of cran-cherry cocktail, loganberry, and Mission fig, lifted by lithe tannins and a lingering finish.
Terroir & Winemaking
Sourced from prime Dundee Hills vineyards like Prince Hill and Knight's Gambit, the grapes thrive in volcanic Jory soils, imparting distinctive earthy and red-fruit notes. The 2017 vintage saw a classic Oregon growing season - hot summer months followed by a cooling harvest period, allowing optimal balance of acidity and ripeness. Aged 13 months in French oak (40% new), this wine harmonizes fruit purity with structured elegance.
Legacy & Pairings
Founded by pioneer Dick Erath in the 1960s, the winery’s commitment to terroir-driven Pinot Noir shines here. Enjoy now with duck or wild mushrooms, or cellar for 3-8 years to unveil deeper complexity.
