Franck and Simon Follin-Arbelet farm this enclosed, walled "Les Meix" plot in Aloxe-Corton, hand-harvesting Pinot Noir planted between 1965 and 1991, then aging 18 months in oak (20-25% new) before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
Raspberry and briar scents gain intensity in the glass, joined by loam, undergrowth and floral lift on the nose. The palate is well-balanced with sappy red fruit, spicier and edgier than the village cuvée, closing on a sapid, briny, saline finish typical of the finest burgundy red wines from this terroir.
