A pure, single-varietal expression of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from vines over 40 years old, this Montepeloso flagship matures 18 months in 80% new French oak, split between 400-litre barrels and barriques, followed by nine months of bottle aging before release.
Inky dark and impenetrable in color, the 2015 Gabbro carries savory dark fruit and spice on the nose, with richness and endurance defining the palate. Dense, structured and built for the cellar, it's a serious benchmark for Cabernet Sauvignon grown on Tuscany's coast.
