Le Tertre Rôteboeuf, the top wine from the same owner, is often comparable in quality to this Côtes de Bourg wine. This Côtes de Bourg is undoubtedly the finest wine from the appellation, and is particularly sought after by those "in the know". Despite being a Right Bank wine, this vineyard is located a mere 4 or 5 kilometers from Château Margaux as the crow flies. The vineyard features a south-facing slope with well-ventilated vines. The 20% Cabernet Sauvignon component in the blend is derived from vines over 50 years old. This wine is matured entirely in new oak.
