Product Description
Eben Sadie's Die Ouwingerdreeks sources this South Africa Chenin Blanc from 100-year-old vines on decomposed granite in Stellenbosch's Jonkershoek Valley - one of the oldest chenin blanc vineyards on the continent. Whole-bunch pressed and fermented in old oak foudre, then aged 12 months on lees and bottled unfiltered, preserving every nuance of its ancient terroir.
- Nose: Lime peel, green apple, dried citrus blossom, and melba toast — intense, oily, and resinous with layered complexity that slowly unfolds
- Palate: Voluminous and textured — ripe apricot, stone fruit, and orchard pear with beaming acidity, phenolic weight, and a leesy, nutty viscosity
- Finish: Breathtakingly long and linear — honeysuckle, lanolin, ginger, and spice evolve and change.
