Product Description
The Xiaoling Sentiers de Xiaoling 2019 is the acclaimed second wine from China's most prestigious high-altitude estate. Located in Yunnan province at 2,100 meters above sea level along the Upper Mekong River, Xiaoling winery continues the winemaking legacy of French Catholic missionaries who first planted vines in this remote Tibetan region in 1846.
Vineyard & Winemaking
This exceptional Red Wine is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon grown on steep terraced slopes by 23 local Tibetan families. The extreme altitude and diurnal temperature variations create ideal conditions for elegant, perfumed wines. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in traditional Chinese clay pots, then aged in French oak barrels under the guidance of Burgundian consultant Sylvain Pitiot.
Tasting Profile
Despite being made from Cabernet Sauvignon, this Yunnan Red Wine displays unexpected elegance reminiscent of Pinot Noir, with bright acidity, light-to-medium body, and remarkable aromatic complexity. A wine that showcases the unique terroir potential of China's emerging fine wine region.
