Petit Mont

寸山 Petit Mont

Petit Mont is winemaker Ma Jie’s refined expression of Chinese terroir: small-production, character-led wines created for drinkers who value authenticity over convention. Meaning “small mountain,” the name reflects a commitment to individual sites, precise winemaking and a quietly confident style.

From Ningxia to high-altitude Deqin in Yunnan, Petit Mont works with minimal intervention to preserve fruit purity and site definition. Native Chinese yeast, restrained oak and meticulous barrel selection support rather than obscure each wine’s natural character. The rare Clos du Mont Jiangpo Chardonnay, for example, is drawn from just two exceptional barrels near Meili Snow Mountain.

Ma Jie’s work has already earned recognition in James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of China 2025: the 2023 Baima Snow Mountain Cuvée Prestige Merlot ranked No. 11, while the 2023 Baima Snow Mountain Vidal late-harvest sweet wine ranked No. 21 with 93 points.
