瓏岱 Domaine de Long Dai

The Lafite in Qiu Shan Valley

Domaine de Long Dai (瓏岱酒庄) is a prestigious winery located in Qixia, Shandong Province, China, and is owned by the renowned French wine producer Baron Philippe de Rothschild (the same family behind Château Mouton Rothschild). Established as a joint venture between Domaines Barons de Rothschild (DBR) and CITIC Group, it represents a fusion of French winemaking expertise and Chinese terroir. The name "Long Dai" (瓏岱) reflects Chinese culture, with "Long" symbolizing a sacred dragon and "Dai" referring to Mount Tai, a revered mountain in Shandong. Situated in Qixia, a hilly region with a moderate maritime climate, ideal for viticulture. The vineyard benefits from granite-rich soils, similar to those in Bordeaux, contributing to structured and elegant wines. The area experiences four distinct seasons, with warm summers and cool autumns, allowing for balanced grape ripening. The winery focuses on Bordeaux-style blends, primarily using Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.
