Product Description
Domaine de Trevallon IGP Alpilles 2022 stands as one of the legendary Trevallon wines from Provence's Les Baux valley. Robert Parker declared the winery as "one of my life's greatest discoveries," establishing this cult estate's reputation worldwide. This iconic blend combines 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Syrah from 15 hectares of biodynamic vineyards planted on deep chalky limestone soils in north-facing slopes. Following Eloi Dürrbach's passing in 2021, his wife Floriane and children Ostiane and Antoine continue his minimal-intervention philosophy, using 100% whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts before aging two years in foudres (95%) and barrels (5%).
Provençal Complexity Meets Bordeaux Structure
Luminous carmine-red with purple highlights, the 2022 opens with powerful garrigue, black olives, red fruit, pine trees, and Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied yet fresh and lively, the palate delivers superbly balanced ripe cassis fruit with slightly vegetal, mentholated notes, licorice, damp undergrowth, and velvety tannins. This great wine ages gracefully for 15-30+ years, rivaling northern Rhône or Bordeaux.
