Giant Steps Harry's Monster 2020 is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from the steep, north-facing Sexton Vineyard planted in 1997 at 130-210m elevation. This exceptional wine earned 96 points from James Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points from Campbell Mattinson, and 93 points from James Suckling. Rich cassis fruit is cut by finely ground tannins, delivering a style seldom encountered in the Yarra Valley. Supple aromas of blackcurrants, cedar, blood plums, and tobacco leaves lead to a medium-bodied palate with firmly integrated tannins and bright acidity, showing cranberries, blackberries, dried herbs, sage, and potpourri.

Meticulous Winemaking

Hand-picked and vinified separately with natural fermentation in small open fermenters, each variety underwent 16 days maceration before malolactic fermentation and 14 months maturation in French oak barriques. Bottled by gravity in December 2021, this wine offers finesse, perfectly formed tannin, and layers of herbs with impressive palate spread. Cellar 5-8 years or enjoy now.
