Product Description
Ministry of Clouds Shiraz McLaren Vale 2024 showcases the modern, vibrant expression of Australia's most iconic red wines from this renowned McLaren Vale producer. Founded in 2012 by Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood, Ministry of Clouds crafts contemporary Shiraz from their own 9.6-hectare vineyard and carefully selected ancient vines across McLaren Vale's geologically diverse landscape. The 2024 vintage undergoes seven months of aging in French oak hogsheads, puncheons, demi muids, foudres, and concrete egg, creating remarkable complexity while maintaining freshness.
Tasting Profile
This agreeably light-weighted wine displays coal-smoky bunch notes with trilling red fruits and popping spices, including coriander seed, green cardamom, white pepper, and fennel seed. The palate delivers goji berry, redcurrant, rose petal, Earl Grey tea, tart blackberry, and tamarind in a perfectly balanced sweet-and-sour profile. Alluring blue and red fruit aromas mingle with earthy minerality, while the fleshy palate offers gentle creaminess and fine tannins that remain bright and bold to the finish.
