The 45 Rugientes Corte de Blancas, awarded 94 points by Descorchados, showcases the entire Otronia vineyard in Sarmiento, near Lake Musters, the southernmost productive vineyard in South America. This blend of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay represents the white varieties that have best adapted to the extreme cold and dry steppe conditions. The wine is notable for its contrast between ripe fruit, floral, and herbal flavors, all balanced by sharp acidity. It has great volume and freshness, making it ideal for pairing with grilled fatty fish.Hand-harvested in 20 kg boxes during the morning, the grapes are directly pressed without de-stemming in a pneumatic press at low pressure, separating the free-run juice from the pressed wine. After static settling, each component is fermented separately in concrete eggs. Once the blend is determined, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak foudres and concrete tanks. In the glass, it has a bright pale yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals tropical fruit, citrus peel, and floral jasmine aromas from the Gewürztraminer, with emerging mineral notes as it opens. On the palate, it offers a refreshing and subtly sweet sensation, with a long, persistent finish. This organic wine is crafted under the expertise of winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia in the Sarmiento region of Chubut, Argentina.
