Product Description
Philippe Lancelot Cramant Extra Brut Grand Cru 2015 represents the pure expression of Cramant's chalky terroir from a pioneering grower who eliminated sulfur from his cellar in 2015. This 100% Chardonnay vintage comes from forty-year-old vines across eight tiny lieu-dit parcels totaling just 1.25 hectares, including Les Basses Croix, Les Porgeons, and Le Bateau.
Purist Winemaking Philosophy
Demeter-certified since 2015 and working with renowned oenologist Hervé Jestin, Philippe Lancelot crafts Champagne that reveals each cru's purest identity. Direct-pressed with a traditional basket press, the wine ferments in stainless steel and barrel before nine months on lees, then ages five years in bottle before disgorgement in April 2021. Minimal 1.44g/L dosage preserves remarkable purity.
Grand Cru Elegance
Gault&Millau awarded 92 points, noting a "very fine, delicate nose with wilted flower petals" and "creamy, chalky palate developing great fullness". The wine reveals lemon curd, grapefruit, toast, lily, yellow apple, and chalk dust with a smoky aftertaste.
