Product Description
Champagne's first-ever single-vineyard
From Champagne's first-ever single-vineyard site (planted 1935), Philipponnat's Clos des Goisses Extra Brut 2015 blends 78% Pinot Noir and 22% Chardonnay, barrel-fermented and aged 8 years on lees without malolactic conversion for concentrated power. The nose reveals Mirabelle plum, acacia blossom and toasted brioche, evolving into candied citrus and dried apricot.
Full-bodied and vinous, the palate shows dense minerality, racy acidity and a chalky, salty finish—critic Anne Krebiehl MW calls it "a fearless and lasting depiction of 2015," with "the drive and power of a thoroughbred". Antonio Galloni praised it : "The 2015 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses is a powerful, resonant wine, just as it was last year".
