This Savage red is a blend of 57% Syrah and 43% Touriga Nacional, a Portuguese grape. The grapes ferment naturally, without added yeast, then age 10 months in old French oak barrels, which adds softness without a strong oaky taste. Expect plum, cherry and blueberry, with a little spice and a subtle salty note.
Try it with grilled lamb, sausages or mushroom dishes. It suits red wine drinkers who like a full, fruity Syrah-led red. It's easy to enjoy now, and it will keep improving over the next 10 years.
