Château Ginkgo, nestled in Saint-Philippe-d’Aiguille, just 13 km from Saint-Émilion, has a captivating story. Founded in 2015 by Risa Yurigusa, a Japanese wine enthusiast who began her journey in Bordeaux at age 21, the château strives for perfection. After a decade as a wine judge and successful negotiant, Risa purchased the estate with a vision of crafting exceptional Bordeaux wines. The name, inspired by Goethe’s poetry, symbolizes love, friendship, and the fusion of East and West. Risa and her small team tend to 100% Merlot vines, some over 80 years old, organically certified since 2016. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with wild yeasts, and aged in 500L French oak barrels for 15-18 months, resulting in wines with balanced concentration, minerality, acidity, and umami.
