Feb 18, 2025
The Origin of Chapter and Verse
The title "Chapter and Verse" draws its inspiration from the poem "The Eight Immortals of the Wine Cup," penned by the esteemed Tang dynasty poet Du Fu.
Much like poetry captures the essence of wine, this brand represents a harmonious blend of Western and Eastern artistic traditions, historical craftsmanship, sophisticated techniques, and exceptional quality, resulting in a timeless masterpiece. "Chapter and Verse" conveys a rich complexity, embodying both boldness and subtlety, intricately shaped by climate, grape variety, and soil, culminating in a symphony of flavors that evolve over time.
As the passage of time unfolds, life is defined by "Chapter and Verse." "Chapter and Verse" weaves enchanting narratives from the land to life, revealing them one by one.
"Chapter and Verse" serves as a tribute to the ingenuity of the Chinese people and honors the winemakers who dedicate their passion and effort to every drop of wine. "Chapter and Verse" presents the allure of Chinese wine to enthusiasts around the globe.
Prime Location and Ideal Conditions
Canaan Wines' vineyards are positioned in the Huailai region of Hebei, China, at a latitude of 40°N and a longitude of 115°E, merely 80 kilometers from Beijing. Following an extensive 24-month assessment of China's prominent grape-growing areas, an international consulting team selected Huailai in 2006.
The vineyards are located on both banks of the Guanting Reservoir, with elevations ranging from 498 to 1050 meters. They enjoy a temperate continental monsoon climate, abundant sunlight, and considerable temperature fluctuations between day and night. The reservoir plays a crucial role in moderating temperature and humidity year-round, reducing the effects of extreme weather and pests, thus providing optimal conditions for cultivating wine grapes.
Commitment to Quality and Sustainable Viticulture
Canaan Wines has always viewed vineyards as the cornerstone of its growth since its establishment. The company employs intelligent agricultural practices and sustainable vineyard management techniques to guarantee the production of top-quality wine, while the picturesque vineyards offer a stunning visual experience.

Canaan Wines adheres to six key principles:
- Rigorous monitoring of grape maturity.
