As natural as a Champagne can be
Based in La Neuville-aux-Larris, Alexis Limar is a rising star in artisanal Champagne. After training at the Viti Campus in Avize, he took over his grandfather's vineyards and founded his own estate in 2023. Together with his wife Jeanne, he now farms three hectares spread across several sites, including the prestigious Grand Cru village of Mailly-Champagne. Alexis practices living viticulture without compromise: no pesticides or herbicides are used, and all vines are worked by hand to respect natural balance. Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay are grown to express the pure minerality of the Marne Valley. In the cellar, he favors spontaneous fermentation without fining or filtration, along with extended aging on lees. Since 2023, he has aged his wines exclusively in small Burgundy barrels to add elegance. Every decision aims to reveal the authenticity of the terroir without masking it, making Alexis Limar a name to watch.
