Bass Phillip
Burgundy Touch with an Explorer Spirit
Bass Phillip is an Australian winery in the Gippsland region of Victoria, renowned for producing some of Australia's most highly regarded Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The winery is named after two Australian explorers, George Bass and Arthur Phillip, reflecting its pioneering ethos. The main estate vineyard in Leongatha features deep, mineral-rich soils and a cool, high-rainfall climate, which contributes to the natural acidity and complex flavors in the wines. The estate was sold in 2020 to Jean-Marie Fourrier of Domaine Fourrier in Burgundy, a highly respected winemaker from Burgundy who also became the winemaker at Bass Phillip.
