Blank Canvas represents a unique collaboration between Master of Wine Sophie Parker-Thomson and her husband, acclaimed international winemaking consultant Matt Thomson. Together, they bring over four decades of combined expertise to craft exquisite, small-batch wines from exceptional single-vineyard sites across New Zealand, merging artistry with scientific precision.

Matt Thomson's Global Experience

With experience spanning 50 vintages across diverse wine regions worldwide, Matt has collaborated with David Gleave since 1994 and plays a key advisory role with various wineries in the Liberty Wines portfolio.

Sophie Parker-Thomson's Journey

Sophie transitioned from a legal career to earn her Master of Wine designation. Collaborating with Matt since 2011, she frequently travels throughout Europe, drawing from these international experiences to inform their distinctive approach to New Zealand winemaking at Blank Canvas.
