Bodegas Volver

Rafael Cañizares, acclaimed as the wine monarch of central Spain, is celebrated for his exceptional wines spanning Castilla-La Mancha, Alicante, and Murcia. Under his “Volver” and “Tarima” labels, Rafael has introduced a range of distinctive wines known for their exceptional value and unique regional and varietal character.

Established in 2004 in the eastern La Mancha region, Bodegas Volver showcases head-trained Tempranillo vines thriving in severely impoverished soils at high elevations on Spain's central plateau. In Valencia, Tarima features over 185 hectares of predominantly old-vine Monastrell, planted between 1925 and 1979. These vines endure a challenging, arid climate in mountainous terrain, contributing to the wines' intense and distinctive profile.

Wine Spectator lauds Alicante, on Spain's southern Mediterranean coast, for its Monastrell, crafting robust reds. Volver, since its inception, has modernized this tradition with ripe fruit and toasty oak flavors, highlighting the region's potential for quality winemaking.
