It all began in 2003 when Olivier Merlin contracted to buy grapes from a plot in pursuit of the best terroirs, leading to the creation of Clos des Quarts. In 2011, Olivier proposed a joint acquisition with Dominique Lafon, which resulted in the establishment of Château des Quarts. In 2020, the Pouilly-Fuisse granted a new premier cru designations, and Clos des Quarts was among the first to receive this esteemed status. Clos de Quarts is situated in Chaintre, with its oldest vines dating back to 1917. The remarkable clos is enclosed by a high stone wall, granting it a monopole status.
