From a knight's estate to the president's table
Located in the Pauillac region of Bordeaux’s Médoc, Château Dompierre is an estate with a noble past. The property was originally owned by the Lord of Dompierre, a Knight of the Order of the Holy Spirit under King Henri III in the 15th century .
A new chapter began in 2013 when winemaker Michel Aroldi, heir to a long peasant tradition, acquired the estate . Aroldi crafts highly distinctive wines using a revolutionary, non-interventionist approach. His method involves long macerations and extended aging (up to 36 months) exclusively in large wooden vats rather than small barrels, diverging from typical Bordeaux practices . The result is a wine celebrated for its unparalleled finesse, silky tannins, and pure fruit expression .
This unique style has earned significant recognition, as Dompierre has been served on numerous official occasions by French Presidents François Hollande and Emmanuel Macron
