Château Gruaud-Larose

Château Gruaud-Larose

Founded in 1725 by Joseph Stanislas Gruaud, a Bordeaux magistrate. It was divided into Gruaud-Larose-Sarget and Gruaud-Larose-Faure in the 1800s, then reunited under the Cordier family in 1917, and classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Beyond doubt, it was hailed as the quintessential Saint-Julien. The golden lion and anchor symbolize strength and maritime heritage. The estate’s motto—"Le Roi des Vins, le Vin des Rois" ("King of Wines, Wine of Kings")—dates back to the 18th century.
