Château La Fleur Morange
Founded by Jean-François and Valérie Julien, a husband-wife team with a passion for tiny yields and extreme quality, the winery was named after Jean-François’ grandmother, "Morange", and the floral elegance of its wines ("La Fleur"). It gained a cult following in the 2000s for its ultra-concentrated, terroir-driven style, with a tiny production (~500 cases/year) from 4.5 hectares. The wines are fermented in small concrete vats with native yeasts, with extended maceration (up to 40 days) for tannin integration. The couple winemakers use French oak (100% new) for bold structure. Fun fact: The Juliens once declassified entire vintages (e.g., 2013) if quality didn’t meet their standards.
