A Saint-Émilion’s Hidden Jewel of Precision, La Gomerie was reborn in 2001 when the Bécot family decided to craft a single-parcel, 100% Merlot wine from their best clay-limestone plot. Similar to Pétrus’ famed terroir, the vineyard fosters pure blue clay over asteriated limestone. With 1.5 hectares only (tiny production of ~500 cases/year), they apply organic farming, no herbicides, and manual harvest with berry-by-berry sorting.
