Château Montrose

Château Montrose

Established in 1778 by Théodore Dumoulin on a wild, rose-covered hillside ("Mont Rose"), it quickly gained fame for its exceptional terroir and was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The proximity to the Gironde estuary moderates temperatures, reducing frost risk. The style is dense, muscular—blackcurrant, graphite, tobacco, iron, and dark chocolate. It is deemed as the Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove": Combines Saint-Estèphe’s power with rare elegance.
