Château Montviel
Chateau Montviel was purchased in 1985 by Catherine Pere-Verge (Chateau Lafleur, Chateau Le Gay). It is located at the North-West corner of Pomerol and spans 5 hectares whose average vine age is 30 years. The soil is a fine sand-gravel mix, much like Clinet, with deposits of iron. It is this soil combination, typical of Pomerol, that gives the wines their unique blend of elegance and power. Michel Rolland is the consulting oenologist. Montviel produces a second wine, La Rose Montviel.
