The Biodynamic Pioneer of Pauillac: Founded in 1725 by Jean-François de Pontet, a royal governor, it later expanded by his descendants, who added "Canet" (a neighboring plot) to the name. As one of few Bordeaux estates to openly share farming practices, it became Bordeaux’s first classified growth to earn full biodynamic certification (Demeter & Biodyvin). Interestingly, they employ horse-powered plowing: 70% of vineyards worked by Clydesdale horses to avoid soil compaction.
